Gordon BrownDog: $10,000.00
Gordon BrownDog was rescued by Street Tails in August 2010. He was a cruelty case who was found in the bathtub of someone's home. Gordon had severely luxated patellas on both hind limbs which caused him to walk with his knees completely flexed. In January 2011, Gordon underwent surgery to shorten/plate both of his femurs, in order to lengthen the ligaments to reconstruct his knees. He is now able to run and play like a "normal" dog. Gordon Brown Dog is the prime example of how powerful and forgiving an animal really is. He heads our sponsorship program, because he is definitely the most amazing dog that has come through rescue!
    This sponsorship includes:
  • A listing in all promotional and media materials for Street Tails Animal Rescue through December 2012
  • An 8x10 plaque on one of our kennel runs at the adoption facility
  • A logo and link on our web page, www.streettails.org

Grandma Brie: $5,000.00
Brie is our easy, breezy, beautiful bulldog girl. She was left at the shelter because her owners said she was too old, and she can't really move. Brie is an 11 yr old English Bulldog with lots of love to give. She had severe skin issues, which have been treated by a dermatologist, is hypothyroid and has horrible arthritis. Despite all of that, she still manages to get up onto the couch and loves getting lots of lovin'. All dogs deserve a chance...as we would never view age as a disease.
    This sponsorship includes:
  • An 8x10 plaque on our donor wall inside the adoption facility
  • A logo and link on our web page, www.streettails.org
  • STAR gift pack
3-Legged Carlos: $1,500.00
Carlos was lost from his family but found by ACCT with what was thought to be a broken paw. Upon evaluation, it turned out he had a fracture through his elbow and growth plates. In order to give him the best quality of life his leg needed to be amputated. His original family didn't want a 3-legged dog. Well, STAR did, and since the amputation he has found a new family that loves him - three paws and all.
    This sponsorship includes:
  • A 5x7 plaque on our donor wall inside the adoption facility
  • A link on our web page, www.streettails.org
  • STAR gift pack
The Cutie Pies: $500.00
The Cuties Pies were left in a box at ACCT at only 7-weeks-old. They, like so many unwanted puppies, are the result of owners neglecting to spay or neuter their pets. We love puppies, but not only with The Cuties Pies - STAR has taken in bottle-feeder puppies to foster and ween until they are old enough for adoption.
    This sponsorship includes:
  • A name plate on our donor wall inside the adoption facility
  • STAR gift pack
Maesha: $250.00
Maesha is the Street Tails Kitty Mascot. She is a Sphynx, also known as a hairless cat. She represents all of the homeless kitties. Maesha has so many fans that come in for no other reason but to visit her, yet someone was willing to abandon her, which is how she ended up with us.

10 Years Strong...

As The Chic Petique and Street Tails Animal Rescue (STAR) celebrate their ten year anniversary, they announce exciting plans: Street Tails Animal Rescue Adoption Center and Thrift for Tails...a Pre-Loved Pet Boutique.

This groundbreaking concept is another first for Philadelphia.

A shop for pets featuring gently used items; such as collars, leashes, clothing, beds, and accessories - with all proceeds benefiting the Street Tails Animal Rescue Adoption Center.

Although STAR has been working to save the lives of animals in need for a decade, they are delighted to finally open a dedicated facility.  Lindsay Condefer, founder and owner, is confident that the opening of the Street Tails Animal Rescue Adoption Center (located directly across from The Chic Petique on the uniquely pedestrian and family friendly Liberties Walk shopping district) will greatly expand STAR’s life saving goals.

“In the first nine months of 2011, Street Tails has already saved over one hundred animals from the city’s overcrowded animal shelter. Many have needed extensive medical care, and Street Tails was able to help,” says Condefer. “With the new adoption center, which will feature four spacious dog suites, Street Tails will be able to help even more animals find loving homes.”
